本課程內容介紹材料應力、應變及物體受力變形，了解外力與變形量之關係，幫助機械工程師在設計過程中，計算結構各部份之應力及變形量，避免構件意外破壞，為一門實用之課程。

一、 應力：內力的分析、軸向負載桿件、剪應力、承受應力、軸向變形、應力應變圖
二、 應變：一般的虎克定律、靜不定的問題、熱應力
三、 扭轉：圓軸之扭轉、薄壁管之扭轉
四、 樑之剪力與彎矩：支撐與負載、剪力與彎矩方程式與剪力與彎矩圖、用面積法繪剪力與彎矩圖、移動負載
五、 樑之應力：彎曲應力、經濟斷面、樑之剪力、彎矩和剪力的設計、組立樑接合的設計
六、 樑之撓度：雙積分法、利用不連續之函數雙積分法、重疊方法
