介紹組成各種物質的基本粒子”原子”之特性、原子之鍵結與結晶、半導體之結構、晶體缺陷對電性之影響及基礎半導體製程技術。

一、使學生瞭解常見之半導體材料及其結構與缺陷對材料特性之影響。
二、介紹半導體之能帶、能隙、摻雜…等之基本觀念，以提供將來修習半導體元件物理之基礎。
三、引導學生對於半導體製程的應用、設計與製造有基本之概念。
