This course is a workshop course which will use sketches from the English Teaching Theatre group to practice inter-personal communication in English as well as specific, primarily functional, language points. Students will be required to perform role-plays and improvisations in class as well as devise and present their own group role-plays for assessment. As the course is entirely concerned with speaking, full participation in class will be required.

The course aims to strengthen speaking skills, specifically pronunciation and inter-personal communication skills, through the use of role-play and improvisation. Students should leave the course with a better understanding of the importance of good pronunciation, stress placement, and correct intonation in effective communication in English, and ultimately become better communicators.
