Practice in a range of speaking skills to increase communicative competence and accuracy in language. Extended dialogues and discussion on a wider range of topics. Group/individual presentations and debates on controversial or interesting issues. Extended role plays with freer creative input on ideas and scripts The general aim is to help students to be able to: speak clearly in a way which suits the situation; make requests and ask questions to obtain information in familiar and unfamiliar contexts; express clearly statements of fact, explanations, instructions, accounts and descriptions; present information and ideas in a logical sequence and include detail and develop ideas where appropriate; follow and contribute to discussions on a range of straightforward topics; make contributions relevant to the situation and the subject; use appropriate phrases for interruption; make brief oral presentations in class (~5 min) .
