健康照護體系的發展方向與電腦資訊技術息息相關。各式先進技術都逐漸導入醫院，包含電子化病歷、影像擷取及傳輸系統、實證醫學，甚至網路醫療、虛擬醫院也逐漸蓬勃發展；而人工智慧在醫療的應用，更是未來發展重點所在。本課程將把近年來醫學資訊的的進步與相關應用詳細介紹，以培養學生對醫學資訊的了解，進而發展相關醫療資訊產業的技能。
