課程概述
Computer-Medicated Communication (CMC) has been increasingly implemented in language learning environment and has been reported that it can improve learners’ learning motivation, lower their language anxiety, and have them actually use the target language in a real context. The purpose of this course is to provide students an accessible introduction to the use of CMC, particularly in language learning pedagogy and virtually get students involved in using CMC in learning.
課程目標
The students who complete this course will be able to:
1.Be familiar with theories related to CMC;
2.Discuss academic topics in CMC modes, both synchronous and asynchronous; and
3.Complete one of the following three CMC reports: A) Literature review related to
any CMC issues, B) A research proposal using CMC as an instructional tool, and C)
An actual study conducted in CMC environment.
