課程概述
本課程為設計實務課程,目的在於培養學生資訊視覺化的規劃與設計實作之能力。採小組合作方式進行,搭配不同產業開發各種具商業價值與利益之產品;重心在於訓練學生如何將文化、藝術、生活創意和商品生產相互結合,進而將創意及作品予以商品化與產業化。
This course is designed to cultivate the students’ capacities of information visualization (service) planning and development. The course operates in groups to develop various creative products (services) with commercial value for different industries. The focus of the course is to train students to integrate culture, art, life, creativity and commodity production, and to further commercialize and industrialize students’ creative designs.
課程目標
本課程研究的設計實務的範圍很廣,從標點符號的歷史,國際的圖形起源和現代印刷術的結構,在大眾傳播中的應用、設計、商業攝影,插圖和廣告文案等,本課程目標期能培養學生多元思考、成為具有國際視野之人才。
This course examine a wide range of design practices, from the history of punctuation, the origins of international pictograms and the structure of modern typography, to the role of design in mass communication, with essays on stock photography, illustration and advertising itself. The goal of course is designed to cultivate the students open-minded talents with global awareness.

開始會用一些實務案例說明,例如印刷,展覽設計,廣告,標牌,包裝,多媒體和網絡等領域的得獎作品。並引用專家學者的案例更深入的探討設計的基礎,如字形設計,顏色和圖像。
本課程的原則和策略將以四個部分的實務研究和範例:
以Mapping的方式來呈現如何用簡單的表現手法顯示複雜的空間。
以資訊分析設計來呈現不同領域的資料庫呈現,例如:傳播領域、人口統計和新聞等領域的視覺化設計。
以溝通可視化,例如聊天室談話或人、機之間的關係複雜的事件,行動或過程中動態的呈現的關聯。

Interacting visualizes a complex event, action or process, such as a chat room conversation or a relationship between user and computer.
Exploring pushes today’s technology to its limits, demonstrating new ways to navigate a website or to work with the computer.
